About
Παναγία is a church built high on a hill above Chora, dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos; it is most likely built on the site of an ancient temple, with an inscription for a renovation of 1687 and its present form between 1816 and 1821. The icon of the Panagia kept here is thought to be from Byzantine times and is linked with stories, legends and miracles.

The offices of Πολιτιστικός Σύλλογος, I Folegandros, are on Pounta square. It was founded in 1984; every summer it hosts painting, ceramics or photography exhibitions and on the August full moon it organizes a music evening at the Folklore Museum, in Ano Meria.
