Own live site (vortanaxos.com; site banner still says “under construction”) explains the name in EN: in the dialect of Naxos’s mountain villages, “vorta” are the arches that adorn homes and villages, an idiomatic word for a stroll, and in some villages the cue to join a local dance (syrto/ballos). The operators say they chose the name because it covers those Naxos meanings, and their aim is a comfortable, hospitable stay that lets guests explore the island.
