About
Κάστελος is the rocky northern peninsula between the bay of Ag. Georgios to the east and Lygaria to the west, where the earliest habitation on the island was identified. On the rock are remains of a small settlement dated from surface finds to the Early Cycladic II period (c. 2.600-2.300 BC), which are subject to damage from the marine environment and from erosion of the rocks.
