About
Glaronisi is the uninhabited islet between Pano Koufonisi, Kato Koufonisi and Keros, 600 metres off Kato. It takes its name from the seagulls (glaros) that nest there in their hundreds.
Small beaches and sea caves ring the rock. You reach it on an excursion boat or under your own steam.

Folk Museum of Koufonisia
The Folk Museum was created in 2011 at the initiative of the then Head of the new municipality of Koufonisia, Antonis Koveos, and opened officially on June 30, 2011. Exhibits provided by the inhabitants tell their story and memories; it is next to the church of St George, by the old water fountain.
Nikitas Simos Folklore & Archaeological Collection
The Nikitas Simos Folklore & Archaeological Collection is exhibited in the garden of Villa Ostria in Agios Georgios. The municipal page says it is small but informative about the area’s past, and that a stone building of 1852 — Koufonissi’s first primary school, now the café-bar “School” — stands with it; entry is free.
Church of Saint George
The church of Saint George was completed in 1870.
St Nicholas Church
Agios Nikolaos chapel stands at Loutro cove in Chora on Ano Koufonissi, close to an old windmill. The municipal page places it at the edge of the large Roman settlement that archaeologists say underlay Chora.
