About
The island’s harbour beach sits in front of Agios Georgios (Limani), the port village. Most visitors land here: a sandy stretch with tavernas and rooms behind it, and the boat dock at one end.
It is the practical beach — swimming before dinner, children in the shallows — not a wilderness cove.

Alimia Beach
Alimia is a south-coast cove of very clear water, reached by boat from Agios Georgios — Island Tour and similar south-beach runs stop here. The draw is the Second World War seaplane wreck in the bay, close enough to swim to when the sea is quiet. There is no taverna on the sand. Bring water, and time the boat back.
Karvounolakos Beach
Karvounolakos is a south-coast stop on the same boat circuit as Alimia: a smaller bay with no settlement behind it. Expect a drop-off by caique, a swim, and the same boat home. There is no shade and no shop.
Livadi Beach
Livadi is the long beach on the northeast side, below the old kastro. It is one of the island’s open sandy stretches, with the hill-fort in sight and quieter water than the south coves when the meltémi is up. Walk it from the harbour path, or come round by boat. The castle ruins are the landmark.
Tourkopigado Beach
Tourkopigado is a small cove on Irakleia — the name points to an old well. It is a short, quiet stop rather than a village beach. Come prepared; nothing is sold on the sand.
